The short answer: for a workshop, garage or storage room with an electricity supply, choose one of our TF-PG electric industrial fan heaters. The 2 kW and 3.3 kW models run from a standard 230 V plug, and the 5 kW and 9 kW models need a 400 V supply. For a warehouse, production hall or event tent, where you have a large volume to heat, choose an EMLO infrared oil heater: 13 kW, 16 kW or 20 kW, listed on the product pages for spaces up to 900, 1100 or 1400 m³. Both ranges are portable and need no installation. Measure the space, check the electricity supply you have, and if you are unsure send us the dimensions.
This guide compares the two ranges, lists every model with the figures from its product page and explains what to check before you order.

Two ways to heat a workshop or warehouse
Termofol sells two kinds of heater for industrial and commercial spaces, and they work in different ways.
- Electric fan heaters (the TF-PG range). A fan pushes air across electric heating elements and into the room. The product pages describe them as heating, drying and ventilating indoor spaces, with a fan-only setting, two heat settings and a built-in thermostat. They produce no fumes and do not consume oxygen, which is why the product pages recommend them for enclosed spaces.
- Infrared oil heaters (the EMLO range). These burn diesel, red diesel, biodiesel, kerosene or renewable diesel and warm people, objects and surfaces directly with infrared heat instead of blowing hot air around. The product pages describe them as mobile units on wheels for warehouses, workshops, production halls and event tents, ready to use once you fill the tank and plug the unit into a 230 V socket for its controls.
Both ranges sit in our industrial heaters category, and there is a full overview on our industrial heaters page.
Electric fan heaters: 2 kW to 9 kW
| Model | Power | Settings | Supply | Size (mm) | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| TF-PG-20 | 2.0 kW | Fan only, 1.0 kW or 2.0 kW | 230 V plug | 230 x 195 x 315 | 3.4 kg |
| TF-PG-33 | 3.3 kW | Fan only, 1.65 kW or 3.3 kW | 230 V plug | 265 x 260 x 400 | 4.7 kg |
| TF-PG-50 | 5.0 kW | Fan only, 2.5 kW or 5.0 kW | 400 V | 265 x 260 x 400 | 5.3 kg |
| TF-PG-90 | 9.0 kW | Fan only, 4.5 kW or 9.0 kW | 400 V | 353 x 330 x 515 | 8.6 kg |
All four have a metal housing, a carry handle, a built-in thermostat and overheat protection, and they share the same simple controls: one dial selects fan only or one of the two heat levels, the other dial sets the thermostat. Because they are compact and light, you can carry a heater from one room to the next or lift it into a van at the end of the day.
The product pages give a picture of where each size belongs. The TF-PG-20 is described as a compact heater for small workshops, garages, storage rooms and renovation spaces, and for drying after renovation work. The TF-PG-33 and TF-PG-50 are listed for workshops, garages, construction sites and storage rooms. The TF-PG-90 is the one the product page names for warehouses and large work areas as well as workshops and construction sites.
Check your supply before you choose. The TF-PG-20 and TF-PG-33 come with a 230 V plug, so they run from an ordinary socket. The TF-PG-50 and TF-PG-90 need a 400 V supply and cannot be run from a standard 230 V socket. If you are not sure what the socket in your building provides, ask a qualified electrician before ordering.

Infrared oil heaters: 13 kW to 20 kW
| Model | Heat output | Space | Fuel tank | Running time per filling (max.) | Noise |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| EMLO 13 kW | 13 kW | up to 900 m³ | 50 L | 47 h | 45 dB |
| EMLO 16 kW | 16 kW | up to 1100 m³ | 50 L | 43 h | 48 dB |
| EMLO 20 kW | 20 kW | up to 1400 m³ | 70 L | 55 h | 50 dB |
The three models share the same features on their product pages: a temperature setting from 0 to 40 °C, an LED control panel, a remote control and the TERMOFOL Smart app for iOS and Android, overheat protection, an IP24 rating and wheels for moving the unit around. Each one draws 80 W from a 230 V socket to run its burner pump and controls, and each is supplied with a set of spare filters and a Ø100 mm exhaust kit.
Sizing an oil heater is a volume question. The product pages give a maximum space in cubic metres, so multiply the length, width and height of the building. A hall 30 m long, 15 m wide and 3 m high is 1350 m³, which points to the 20 kW model. If your building is open-sided, draughty or you want to heat only part of it, tell us when you contact us and we will help you decide.

Electric or oil: which should you choose?
| TF-PG electric fan heaters | EMLO infrared oil heaters | |
|---|---|---|
| Heat output | 2.0 to 9.0 kW | 13 to 20 kW |
| What it needs | 230 V socket (2 kW and 3.3 kW) or 400 V supply (5 kW and 9 kW) | 230 V socket for the controls plus diesel, red diesel, biodiesel, kerosene or renewable diesel |
| How the heat is delivered | Warm air from a fan | Infrared heat to people, objects and surfaces |
| Fumes | None, and no oxygen consumed | Exhaust kit supplied |
| Space | Small and medium rooms, workshops, garages, storage rooms, the 9 kW model also warehouses | Up to 900, 1100 or 1400 m³ |
| Moving it | Carry handle, 3.4 to 8.6 kg | Wheels |
| Controls | Two dials and a built-in thermostat | LED panel, remote control and app |
In practice the decision usually comes down to the size of the space and the power supply:
- Choose an electric fan heater for a workshop, garage, storage room or a room that needs drying out, when you have a suitable socket and want warm air without fumes. Pick the 2 kW or 3.3 kW model for a standard socket and the 5 kW or 9 kW model where you have 400 V.
- Choose an infrared oil heater for a warehouse, production hall, large workshop or event tent, where the volume runs into hundreds of cubic metres and you want a unit you can wheel to where the heat is needed.
- For an office or staff room next to the workshop, look at our electric convector heaters instead, or at wall-mounted panels, which we explain in how to size an infrared heating panel for a room.
Before you order
- Check the electricity supply. A 400 V heater will not run from a household socket. If you are unsure, a qualified electrician can tell you what you have and whether the circuit is suitable.
- Measure the space. For an oil heater, work out the volume in cubic metres and compare it with the product page. For an electric heater, tell us the room size and what you use it for.
- Think about drying as well as heating. The fan heaters are listed for drying rooms after plastering or painting, and the fan-only setting moves air without heat.
- Follow the manual. Keep the grille clear, never cover the heater and site an oil heater as the manual describes.
Frequently asked questions
Can I run an electric industrial heater in a closed room?
The product pages state that the TF-PG heaters produce no fumes and do not consume oxygen, and they recommend them for enclosed spaces. Keep the grille clear and follow the manual.
Does an oil heater need electricity?
Yes. Each EMLO heater plugs into a 230 V socket and draws 80 W to run the burner pump, the fan and the controls. The heat itself comes from the fuel in the tank.
What fuel do the EMLO heaters burn?
The product pages list biodiesel, kerosene, renewable diesel, standard diesel and red diesel.
Can I use a TF-PG heater at home?
Yes. The product pages describe the 2 kW and 3.3 kW models as suitable for domestic, workshop and light professional use, for example in a garage or a room being renovated.
